UDSM Online Application Form 2027
The University of Dar es Salaam offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programmes and academic courses across different faculties and schools.
Applicants are required to complete the online application form through the UDSM Online Admission System (OAS). After filling out the form, candidates must upload all the required documents and submit the application online.

How to Download or Access the UDSM Online Application Form 2027
Follow the steps below to access the University of Dar es Salaam application portal:
- Visit the official UDSM Online Application Portal.
- Create a new applicant account using your email address and personal details.
- Log in to your account and select your preferred academic programme.
- Complete the online application form by providing accurate academic and personal information.
- Upload the required supporting documents such as:
- Academic certificates and transcripts
- Identification documents
- Passport-size photograph

UDSM Undergraduate Entry Requirements
Candidates applying for admission to undergraduate programmes at the University of Dar es Salaam must meet the general minimum entrance requirements as well as any additional programme-specific requirements.
Students applying under the Inter‑University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) Student Exchange Programme must satisfy both the entry requirements of UDSM and those of the admitting university.
Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Degree Programmes
1. General Minimum Entrance Requirements
A candidate will be considered for admission into a first-degree programme at UDSM if they meet one of the following qualifications:
(a) Secondary Education Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or equivalent qualification
- Passes in five approved subjects, with at least three credits
These qualifications must be obtained before sitting for the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or an equivalent qualification.
(b) Advanced Level Qualifications
Applicants must also have:
- Two principal passes in appropriate subjects at the ACSEE or equivalent
- A minimum total of 5 points for Arts programmes
- A minimum total of 2 points for Science programmes
The grading system is converted into points as follows:
- A = 5 points
- B = 4 points
- C = 3 points
- D = 2 points
- E = 1 point
- S = 0.5 point
- F = 0 points
Note: Principal level passes in Divinity or Islamic Knowledge are not included in the calculation of admission points.
(c) Diploma Qualifications
Applicants may also qualify with:
- A relevant diploma with at least Second Class or Credit level
- The diploma must be obtained from an institution registered by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and approved by the UDSM Senate.
For diplomas classified into upper and lower divisions, applicants must have Upper Second Class or a B+ average.
Students from countries using the 8-4-4 education system must complete at least one year of university study in their home country before applying for admission at UDSM.
(d) Mature Age Entry Examination (MAEE)
Applicants who do not meet the standard entry qualifications may apply through the Mature Age Entry Examination (MAEE).
Requirements include:
- Minimum score of 100 marks in the MAEE
- At least 50 marks in Paper I
- At least 50 marks in Paper II
The MAEE is designed for Tanzanian applicants aged 25 years or older who wish to pursue university education but lack the conventional entry qualifications.
To qualify, applicants must also:
- Have three credit passes in approved CSEE subjects, or
- Have completed Form VI at least five years before the application year
Additional Entrance Requirements
Apart from the general entry requirements, each programme at the University of Dar es Salaam may have additional subject requirements or minimum grades.
