Job Summary

The Credit Officer is responsible for evaluating and processing credit applications while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations. In addition to risk assessment, the officer will focus on expanding the client base, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring effective monitoring of loan repayments. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties.

Credit Evaluation
• Evaluate and process credit applications in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures to verify client identity and financial status.

Risk Assessment and Reporting
• Analyze credit risks by reviewing credit history, income levels, and financial obligations.
• Prepare detailed risk assessment reports to support informed loan approval decisions.

Customer Relations
• Maintain a customer-first approach when interacting with clients.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve disputes professionally to ensure a positive loan application experience.

Monitoring and Collections
• Monitor credit accounts to ensure timely repayment of loans.
• Follow up with overdue accounts and implement appropriate collection strategies to minimize bad debt.

Documentation and Record Keeping
• Maintain accurate records of all credit transactions.
• Ensure documentation is updated and organized for audit and compliance purposes.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
• Ensure that all credit activities comply with local regulations and company policies.
• Maintain valid regulatory documents such as tax records and operational licenses.

Credit File Management
• Maintain secure and well-organized credit files.
• Ensure credit files are updated regularly and ready for internal or regulatory inspections.

Loan Portfolio Management
• Support the management of the loan portfolio to ensure it remains within acceptable risk limits.
• Recommend adjustments to credit limits or lending terms when necessary.

Customer Support
• Educate clients about loan procedures, repayment schedules, and company policies.
• Provide high-quality customer service throughout the credit lifecycle.

Loan Approval Support
• Prepare detailed credit risk reports to assist the Branch Manager in making informed loan approval decisions.
